Catch 22 Launches Ambitious 18-Month Programme to Empower Youth into Employment

catch 22

Catch 22, are committed to helping young people overcome career challenges. They recently embarked on a transformative journey with the launch of an innovative 18-month programme aimed at empowering youth facing barriers to employment and apprenticeships. This project is set to provide a lifeline to underserved communities, propelling them not just into immediate roles but into sustainable "good work" opportunities in the Net Zero job sector.

Catch 22's career coach will be ready to accept referrals starting at the end of September, with a focus on individuals aged 18 and above who currently find themselves unemployed and are seeking employment, education, training, or apprenticeship opportunities.

One of the program's central pillars is the provision of personalised 1-2-1 support for participants. The career coach will assist individuals in crafting compelling CVs, navigating the job application process, identifying transferable skills, and facilitating their return to employment, education, training, or apprenticeships while enrolled in the programme.

To ensure participants are well-prepared for the challenges of today's job market, Catch 22 has included a comprehensive 4-week employability course as a mandatory component of the programme. During this course, participants will engage in a wide array of skill-building activities, including:

  • Upskilling

  • Developing transferable skills

  • Crafting an effective CV

  • Exploring hidden job markets

  • Harnessing the power of social media for empowerment

  • Understanding employer expectations

  • Enhancing communication skills

  • Building presentation skills and mastering the art of presenting

  • Boosting confidence and motivation

  • Perfecting interview techniques

  • Leveraging LinkedIn for networking

  • Creating targeted CVs

  • Participating in group interview sessions

  • Engaging in voluntary sessions with reputable companies

  • Gaining an introduction to health and safety protocols

  • Acquiring leadership and management skills

  • Enhancing customer service skills

  • Learning conflict management strategies

  • Cultivating emotional intelligence

This initiative promises an incredible opportunity for all participants. With the career coach's guidance, young people from various backgrounds will gain the skills and confidence needed to secure lasting, meaningful employment in the Net Zero job sector.

For inquiries or additional information, interested parties are invited to reach out via email or request face-to-face meetings or phone calls with Catch 22's dedicated career coach.

Catch 22's commitment to empowering young people and bridging the gap to sustainable employment and apprenticeships is poised to make a profound impact on communities and lives.
