Come to the next Wirral SENDLO Live event!
Join us on Monday 12 October at our next Wirral SENDLO Live event in Birkenhead. We would like parents, carers, children and young people to come along. You can find information about how to attend further down this page.
What is Wirral SENDLO Live - Supporting SEND Together?
Everyone involved in the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Local Offer (SENDLO) has a role in helping children and young people. This includes parents, carers, children and young people. It also includes local organisations and professionals who provide support and services. They work together to help make sure support works well at school, at home and in the community.
Wirral SENDLO Live gives families the chance to learn about the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support available in Wirral. The event is free to attend.
What is happening at Wirral SENDLO Live?
There will be lots of information and activities at Wirral SENDLO Live. You can find out about the SEND support available through Wirral Council and other organisations. You can also speak directly with the people who provide these services. Members of Wirral Council's SEND team will be there to answer questions and provide information.
There will be a dedicated area focused on neurodiversity. Neurodiversity describes the different ways people's brains process information, learn and interact with the world. At the event, we will launch a new digital tool called Knowing Me.
Knowing Me will help parents and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCOs) understand a child's strengths, needs and support requirements. Council teams will share information about how schools support children with neurodiverse needs. They will also explain ways families can use similar approaches at home.
The Preparation for Adulthood (PfA) team will be available for older children and young people. They will provide information about further education, training opportunities and support services that can help young people prepare for adult life.
There are also talks and workshops taking place throughout the event.
