Neurodiversity
Hub Wirral
How Does the Hub
Support This is Me?
The Neurodiversity Hub Wirral is an online resource pack. This section about the Profiling Tool is part of the Hub.
The ND Hub is used to support families and professionals who may use This is Me to identify a child or young person’s neurodivergent strengths and needs.
Colour-Coded Sections in the ND Hub
The Hub uses colour-coding to help you understand which part of the Hub you are in. The titles of each page show you the colour of the section.
RED
Here you will find the information about ‘This is Me’.
It explains how the tool works and how to complete it.
BLUE
This is the colour for the nine areas of This is Me. The information here will help you understand your child’s strengths and needs
GREEN
The green section, ‘More Information’, has other topics that can be part of a neurodivergent person’s life. They would be discussed when you complete This is Me.
ORANGE
The topics in this section are useful for families. There is a Parent Space, information on friendships and more.
-
Families can find support for both their child’s needs and their own. Each section of the Hub starts with a Getting Started section. This gives you a short overview of each topic. In each of the nine dimensions there is a More Information option. This gives extra details for those who want to learn more.
Most sections also have specific options that relate that topic. Sensory Processing and Sibling Zone have detailed tabs. Under Sleep, you’ll find tabs for Bedtime and Melatonin. Under Parent Space, you’ll find School Anxiety and Refusal. Hidden Profiles explores children and young people who may be masking, refusing school, or expressing themselves through behaviour. All of this information will be added week be week and the Hub will be complete by spring.
-
Schools can find tailored information in the Reasonable Adjustments zone. They may also benefit from reading the Hidden Profiles section.
-
Teenagers have their own Teenage Zone in nearly every section. They may also find the Friendships, Siblings, and Hiding in Plain Sight zones helpful.
-
Young adults have a dedicated section called My Independent Life. The Hiding in Plain Sight section may also offer useful insights.
Glossary, Printable Pages, and Easy Read Versions
The Hub will include a Glossary to explain words and terms that some people may not know.
Over time each page will have a printable version of the information on that page. You will be able to download it at the bottom of the page
Easy Read versions will be created in the future too.
Easy Read makes information more accessible for people who:
Find reading and writing difficult
Have memory challenges
Use a second language
Feel overwhelmed by large blocks of text
