HiveAbility at the Hive Youth Zone

HiveAbility: an inclusive and inspiring space for young people in Wirral with extra needs.

The Hive Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art space offering young people across Wirral opportunities and experiences that can’t find anywhere else. It provides a safe place with lots to do, and someone trusted to talk to!

Some of the activities on offer include:

  • Getting active with a variety of sports including the climbing wall, skatepark and much more!

  • Unleashing your creativity in the art room

  • Working on your health and wellbeing, readiness for work and living independently with a visit to the salon, training kitchen or one of the drop-in clinics

  • Catching up with friends and making new connections in the rec area

HiveAbility is the Hive Youth Zone’s fully inclusive session where every young person—regardless of ability, background, or identity—is welcomed. These sessions provide tailored support for young people with learning difficulties through accessible activities, trained staff, and a nurturing environment that encourages confidence, independence, and meaningful social connections.

There are two Hiveability sessions:

  • HiveAbility: Sundays 10am to 2pm (8-19 years (up to 25 years with additional needs)

  • Hiveability 13+: Tuesdays 5pm to 8pm (13-19 years (up to 25 with additional needs)

The Tuesday sessions host the "BeeIndependant" course, which is designed specifically for school leavers with additional needs and disabilities. Over ten, weeks the young people gain valuable life skills like budgeting, food hygiene, cooking, cleaning, CV writing and interview skills.

To attend the sessions you need to be a member of the Hive. It is £5 per year and then just 50p for each session you attend. You can sign up online here Membership - The Hive Youth Zone.
