  • Description text goes hereInspectors identified 3 areas for priority action during the Local Area SEND Inspection that took place in January. This month the Board reviewed the proposed Priority Action Plan developed by the Partnership. The plan is required to be submitted to Ofsted on 4th June 2025.

  • A 2-year Joint Commissioning Plan was presented to the Board. This plan focusses on the priority actions from the inspection. It also includes longer-term improvements. The Board approved the draft plan. More consultation work will now take place before the plan is finalised and implemented.

  • The Head of Clinical Service for Wirral CAMHS delivered a presentation on the current position of the Children's Mental Health pathway in Wirral. There was a detailed and productive discussion on how services could better support children and young people with SEND. As a result of this, meetings will take place between colleagues in education and health. Helping them to work more closely together towards improved services for children and young people.

The Board also discussed a proposal to change the terms of reference for the LASP. Plus, a restructure of the subgroups that report to the Board will change. This is to make sure that the subgroups are focussed on implementing the work needed from the Priority Action Plan and improving communication across the partnership and with parents, carers and young people.
