10 young people have now been shortlisted to become Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs). Several have lived experience of Special Educational Needs and Disability. They could represent your voice in the Youth Parliament.
What is the UK Youth Parliament?
The UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) was set up 25 years ago and gives young people a real voice in democracy. It is made up of over 300 young people aged 11–18. They come from all over the UK and are elected to represent the views of the young people in their area.
MYPs work on important issues that matter to young people. They campaign for change, and make sure youth voices are heard locally and nationally. Elections take place every two years. Thousands of young people get involved.
What’s happening in Wirral?
This year, Wirral will elect:
2 UK Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs)
2 Deputy UK Members of Youth Parliament
These young people will represent Wirral, speak up on issues that matter to you, and help shape decisions that affect young people locally and nationally.
