Join the Wirral SEND Youth Forum and help make a difference

Are you a young person with SEND aged 15 to 25? Would you like to share your ideas and help improve services for children and young people in Wirral?

The Wirral SEND Youth Forum is looking for new members to join. The forum gives young people a chance to share their experiences, speak up about what matters to them and help shape future SEND services across the borough.

The forum was created by the Local Area SEND Partnership to strengthen the voice of children and young people and make sure decision-makers hear directly from those with lived experience of SEND.

What does the forum do?

Members can:

• Share their experiences and ideas

• Help influence decisions about SEND services

• Work with other young people from across Wirral

• Support positive change for children, young people and families

The forum's chair, Ava Adams, and deputy chair, Charlie Warren, are encouraging young people who want to "speak SEND and spark change" to get involved.

When do they meet?

The SEND Youth Forum meets weekly at The Hive in Birkenhead and is open to young people aged 15 to 25. Meeting dates are being planned, so it is best to get in touch to find out when the next meeting is taking place.

Can young people really make a difference?

Yes. The partnership wants to hear from a wide range of young people and is committed to listening to their views. Members will have opportunities to help shape plans and influence change across SEND services in Wirral.

We know our young people don’t always look at news on SENDLO. If your child would like to have their voice heard, make new friends, build confidence and help improve SEND services, please support them to get involved. We want young people to know that their voice matters.
