Commitment to Carers Conference launches Carers Week 2026
Carers Week is a time to recognise and support people who care for others. In Wirral, a wide range of events will take place to help parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Carers Conference at Eureka
Wirral Carers Alliance are bringing services together to provide advice and support for all carers across the borough. There will be a dedicated area for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND. A large part of the space is dedicated to services for those who care for adults.
Updated Preparation for Adulthood information will soon be on SENDLO. The conference is a great event to help our parents and carers of young people in year 9 and above. It’s a chance to meet and chat with the adult services you may need.
Events across Wirral
Local groups like Wired, The Positivitree, Autism Together and Koala Northwest are hosting free and welcoming events during the week. These include:
Coffee mornings and drop-ins

These sessions explain local services, support plans and education health and care plans (EHCPs). An EHCP is a legal document that sets out a child or young person’s needs and the support they should get.Workshops for wellbeing
Join simple activities such as mindfulness, crafts or light exercise. These sessions help reduce stress and support mental health.Family-friendly events
Some events welcome children and young people. These give families a chance to spend time together in a safe space.Advice from local services
You can speak to professionals from health, education and social care. They can guide you to the right support.
Why is Carers Week Important?
Carers often put others first. These events give you time to focus on your own wellbeing. You can learn more about your rights, get practical help and feel less alone. Carers Week 2026 is your chance to connect, learn and feel supported.
Many events are free, but some may need booking. Check What’s On or the SENDLO Facebook page for more information.
